I need to start with this because it simply makes me laugh.
We stopped along the side of the road to fill up with water and this one lone cow started making some noise from about 100 yards away. Bill mooed back and then that cow and the entire herd started making its way toward us. Then they all started singing for us, this went on for about 5 minutes. When we left there were still cows coming from further out. I think they thought we were going to feed them. Never seen anything like it.
I would say that this was one of the best weather days we had on this trip. Very little wind and when it was there it was typically from behind us. Flat roads or decline for the most of the day and then some slight inclines. The only real hills today was for about a 8 miles at the end and they were not that bad. Shane and i mad good time and I think we both felt good.
Down side was that Kyle was not riding with us, he was taking the day to recover and it sounds like it has been very helpful. We have a short mileage day after our rest day tomorrow but it is all climbing. Looking forward to the team getting back together.
It was Mona's Birthday today so when we got done riding we took her out to eat. We found a cool little restaraunt in FT. Davis. Our water was very funny and jumped right into our conversations and helped make it a fun evening. He first pulled some kids in from the other side of the room to sing Happy Birthday (he game them free icecream) then since it is a dry restaruant he did shots of Vinella Syrup with Mona. I have never seen that done and the facial expressions were pricesless.
All in all it was a good day.
Bill I want to thank you for all you have done for us on this ride. Getting our supplies ready, keeping us up todate on weather conditions, keeping us fed and hydrated and so much more
Today was also a day of animals we seen, turkey, buffalo, deer and these Javalina.
Lesson for today. Havig one bad day does not mean that the next will not hold somethign good for you. Wake up each day expecting good things.
