Day 11, "Pops" rides again.

Sorry for the delay in getting this out but I had no Internet and had to try to fix some issues with Kyles bike.

So today started with Dad and I riding the tandem.  I love to do this with him we work really well together and can really keep that thing moving.  We rode 48 miles together which is a new distance record for him by over a mile, the Tour De Tucson was 47.  This was a much tougher and funner ride as it was very hilly and much warmer.  I really think that I may look at getting a tandem when we get back.  I know that Shane wants one as well, so it will probably happen.  Plus I think I have my mom enjoying the tandem as well.

So what do I remember from today, bugs.  I have never been hit by so many bugs in my life.  They were bouncing off everywhere.  I now know what it is like to be a windshield and I am good with not doing that again.  On top of that when you stopped the gnats attacked.  It was kind of an all day thing, needless to say i am covered in bug bites.

Along the way we road past an old church and cemetery that had just had the restoration finished.  It is kind of weird to see big statues to southern soldiers but at the same time it is really neat.   No matter what you believe it is humbling to think about all that fought in the Civil War.

To be honest most of the rest of the day was just a blur.  We rode we drank water we ate repeat.

Lesson for the day.  Take advantage of any opportunity to spend with your family, you never know what tomorrow will bring and what fun you may miss.  And when riding in the bug infested sections of the south keep your mouth shut.
