Day 5

Ok Florida I have a change for you to make, over the last two days I have been chased by 9 dogs.  Can you please have people put up fences or tie up there dogs.  The dogs keep getting bigger and faster as we go along.  This morning we had a a dog come out of the woods, cross the highway and chase us up the road and then disappear back into the woods.

Ok on to the day.  This was by far my best day on the bike this week.  The weather was fantastic the roads were good and we had a great ride.

I thought while I was on the road my mind would wonder, that has not been the case.  I hate to say it but it basically goes blank.  It has been nice not to really think about anything, just watching the road and the surroundings has been a lot of fun.

Yesterday we met a couple from Australia and a gentleman from Finland.  Today we met Tony who was from Great Britain.  They have all been heading towards the east and have all had good things to say about the trip.  When we asked Tony today he paused and then said yes I think it has been a good trip, but he thought it would take being done to really appreciate it.  Understandable, since he was doing it alone and in the last 28 days he has been on the bike 26.  That is a lot of riding by your self.

Before lunch we came upont this tree check out the picture below.  This must have taken a lot of time to complete.

Ok the lesson for today. When doing any long distance cycling remember three things, eat, drink and use plenty of chamois cream.

  2. it actually has been funny, what is sad is that I am getting used to it. But there have been a few dogs that did make me get out of my seat to get moving.
