Day 26, Light at the end of the tunnel

Ed took this picture of me yesterday during one of the fun descents.

When we ended our ride today we are 74 miles from leaving Texas and entering New Mexico.   Today was again a good riding day we spent most of the day riding down I10.  Even though we are closer to the big rigs it is not that bad.   The road is smooth and there is plenty of room between us and the traffic.  We made terrific time once we all got warmed up and going.   We road 66 miles today, 15 miles further than we planned to which again will reduce tomorrows mileage.  We were done by 11:30am MST, that's right we are finally in Mountain time at least for a couple of days.

Soon we will be in AZ with our friends and family and one step closer to completing this chapter of the Pops ride story.

Tomorrow brings some changes for our support team. It will be Bill's last day riding with us he has done a terrific job and will be missed.  But I am sure he is ready to go home and be with his wife and grand kids.  Bill Thank you for your dedication to our ride and with putting up with us.  We will also be saying good by to Les our current bus driver.  What a treat it was to have him along, his sense of humor was great to have around.  Les thank you for keeping us laughing and for helping us out when we needed you to stay longer.
As they leave our new crew will be arriving, Pop's returns to us.  I am very happy that he will be back I have missed having him around.  We will also be saying hello to Paul who is one of Shane friends, Shane went to school with his wife.  With change come renewed energy to our team.

Lesson for the day:  With each end you can have a new begining.
