Day 28, Peace out Texas

Ok, lets be honest I am very excited to be putting Texas behind me.  However I have to admit until the last couple of days it has been really pleasant to ride through, much more scenic then I anticipated.  So officially good by Texas and Hello New Mexico.

We received a great surprise today as some of Shanes co-workers stopped us on the side of the road in El Paso.
This was not only really cool but it was the best part of El Paso as this city is not my kind of place.  As we rode through we were right next to the boarder with its 15 foot high fences, yes there were three of them back to back.

Today's ride seemed to really go fast, thankfully, we road 65 miles and were done by 3:30pm MST.  That it is nice to be done at a decent time three days in a row.  It is amazing how much difference it makes for the next day.  Not really much to see or to talk about in regards to the ride itself.  I have been feeling really good on the bike which is kind of scary.  I am afraid that will bonk soon, hopefully that is not the case because I want to finish this thing out strong.  Only time will tell and I am going to enjoy the good days when they are here.

Pops and Paul arrived today.  I am very excited and happy to have my dad back with us.  it was a long week without him.  There were a couple of days when I really could of used him.  I know that Shane and Kyle are both excited to have him back as well.  There is just something special about dad.  For those of you that know him you know what I am talking about, for those of you that will meet him you will see.  Bill made it home safe and sound.  Thanks again Bill.  Les have a safe trip home tomorrow.

Bill our SAG driver for 4 weeks

Lesson for the day:  I cannot take credit for this one because I took it from a sign I say today.   "Live as if you were to die tomorrow, Learn as if you were to live forever"  I just thought that was a great line.

I wanted to leave you with a smile today so check out our version of the cookie monster.
